Use MusicBanners To Display Banner And Lock Screen Notifications For Track Changes [Jailbreak Tweak]

Ever wondered that the stock iPod music app on your iDevice was just a little to drab and needed a little more Zing? Well a popular iOS developer who goes by the name of Ryan Petrich has come up with a  great jailbreak tweak that takes full advantage of the new innovations that Apple has introduced in iOS 5 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The developer is no newbie when it comes to jailbreak tweaks and his latest offering doesn’t disappoint as well.
This tweak is called MusicBanners, and what it does is that it fully integrates with the iOS 5 notifications center, So whenever you change a track or your music App or your iPod is in shuffle mode, this tweak pops up with a notification banner to display information such as the track name, artist info, the name of the album and tops it off with an aesthetic touch by displaying the album artwork as well. Pretty cool right?

So say, If you were browsing on your iPhone 4S with your music playing in the background, and it starts to play a track that you just can’t remember the name of, you wont have to quit to your homescreen and load the music app just to find the Track info, as MusicBanners takes care of that for you. The aesthetics are really cool and the whole banner popping with every new track really gives a cool touch to your iPhone or iPad.

Along with banners, it also displays the information in the notifications menu that you can scroll down to access form the homescreen as well as notifications on the lockscreen when your iDevice is locked. Although we would have liked the option to change tracks by swiping from the notification menu, but hey, if it’s free, who’s complaining?

While some may find it a little too intrusive, it is nevertheless a cool tweak to try out. You can find it under the Bigboss repository and can install it for free. Let us know your take on this tweak in the comments below.
